Chicago Indie Weekend Guide November 2-4, 2018
Discover and support independent businesses and art in Chicago this weekend!
Happy November! With holidays just around the corner, it's time to start thinking about gifts, and there's no better place to get a unique and meaningful gift than an indie store!
This season also brings tons of great holiday and craft fairs where you can find some one-of-a-kind pieces. We'll be featuring plenty of them in the coming weeks!
Friday, November 2 at 7 PM
If you want to laugh and hang out with some pretty cool women, check out the 12th Annual Witty Women at Lincoln Square's indie bookstore, The Book Cellar. The Book Cellar is a great place for literary events, book browsing, and wine drinking! They have a great cafe inside, which is where they also host their events. The line up includes Stacey Ballis, Claire Zulkey, Wendy McClure, and Amy Guth! (I love Stacey Ballis' books, and if you haven't read her books or have read them but have never seen her in person, I highly recommend you spend your Friday night at the Book Cellar!)
Holiday Market at Wilder Mansion (Elmhurst)
Friday & Saturday, November 2 & 3
Head out to Elmhurst this weekend for the Holiday Market at Wilder Mansion. The market features of 60 artisans all with unique products that would make great gifts (for yourself or others). Expect to find frame art, jewelry, hats, scarves, ornaments, stationery, and more. There's no cost to attend.
Sunday, November 4, 12-6PM
Head out to the Revolution Brewing Taproom on Sunday for a beer and a chance to view and shop the work of more than 40 local artists. This show is also free to enter, and food trucks will be there to help balance out all the craft beer. Sounds like a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon, and to show your support for local artists!
Enjoy your weekend, and support some indie businesses in the process!
