indieland's 30 Days of Christmas - Day 5 - Chicago Indie Weekend Guide, Holiday Edition! Nov30-Dec1
Discover and support independent and small businesses this holiday season!
This weekend, we welcome in December! That means its really time to get into the holiday spirit, and no better way to do that than attending one of many holiday markets and events happening this weekend! The best part: going to these events will help you support your community and indie businesses, so forgot about counting calories and dollars -- this is for a good cause! (Or at least that's how I'll be justifying my indulgence!)
Friday, November 30, 5PM-8PM
The 5th Annual Winter Walk on Wilson is a free event featuring treats, warm drinks, and menu samples from Uptown businesses and organizations, accompanied by live holiday music! The winter walk takes place along Wilson from Clark to Sheridan, and you can view a list of businesses to stop in at the link above. This year’s event will also feature the Chicago Market's Holiday Pop-Up Market at their new home inside the historic Gerber Building. View a complete list of vendors on the Facebook event page. You're sure to find some great holiday gifts and treats!
Saturday, December 1 6PM-10PM
Lincoln Square Pottery Studio – Learning Center hosts its 16th Annual Holiday Sale and Show that will showcase the newest work from their students. You'll find hand-made mugs, bowls, platters, and more from this local artists! All make for great gifts or will look great on your holiday table. The show will feature more than 40 shelves and display areas of ceramic artwork, so plan to spend some time picking out the perfect piece!
Sunday, December 2 10AM-4PM
The Chicago Artisan Market returns this Sunday, just in time to help kick off your holiday shopping season! The market will be held at Morgan Manufacturing in the heart of Fulton Market. The Chicago Artisan Market describes itself as a curated marketplace that "celebrates the ingenuity of independent, small businesses who channel their creative passions into one-of-a-kind designs, home goods, art and food." We can get behind that! Tickets are $8 if you buy them in advance online, or $10 at the door. Kids under 12 are free, and there is a kids zone that will help you keep the whole family entertained.
There are also a few neighborhood holiday festivals happening this weekend, which I posted about earlier this week as part of Indieland's 30 Days of Christmas. But as a refresher, here's a quick recap of what's happening this Saturday and Sunday. View full descriptions and all upcoming festivals in our Day 3 post.
